Sean Williams is a British reporter and photographer based in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. His subjects range from human rights and conflict to sport, culture and tech.

Sean’s work is published at titles including The New YorkerHarper’s Magazine, Rolling Stone, GQ, The Daily Beast, The New Republic, Wired, The Economist, The Guardian, Sports Illustrated and many more. His 2022 Outside magazine feature “School of Rocks” was nominated for an ASME Award for Profile Writing, and several of his stories have been optioned as screen projects.

Sean is also also co-creator and host of The Underworld Podcast, a weekly show investigating global organised crime with journalist Danny Gold.

Sean speaks good German and bad Spanish, and he enjoys cricket, border terriers and looking at old things. He is neither the captain of the Zimbabwean cricket team, nor a financial reporter who studied in San Diego.
